To answer this, we need to ask another question first:
Why are we pushing policies that haven't been proven effective, and implementing them into our schools, where hundreds, sometimes thousands of children, spend their days?
We know that the fear of gun violence is real. But our safety plans must be based on concrete data,

more fearful, not less. Yet multiple states are proposing and passing bills like these,
instead of common sense legislation that have been proven to save lives.
Let’s start here: We need to put in place intersectional, long-term, common-sense solutions – solutions that actually work to make kids and school staff safe.
