Internal tensions within the GOP once again exploded in a mess and childish slew of mud-slinging as Marjorie Taylor Greene trashed "vaping groping Lauren" and "Colonel Sanders" Chip Roy for voting to kill MTG's bigoted attempt to censure Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib. "Our country is in the worst crisis in it’s [sic] history in every category and the Democrats are full blown communists and Republicans can’t even censure Rashida Tlaib," whined MTG on Twitter. Roy fired back by telling Greene to "go chase so-called Jewish space lasers if she wants to spend time on that sort of thing," referring to anti-Semitic conspiracy theories Greene has espoused in the past. ZAP!

The two Trump boys swore they had no idea that company documents were altered to fraudulently inflate the value of the business they were supposed to be running, which might seem believable because it's impossible to conceive of any member of the Trump family actually *working.* Unfortunately for the twits, the state brought receipts. The prosecution immediately presented emails, video calls, and other evidence that showed Eric Trump specifically discussing financial estimates of company properties. Oops! Eric then argued that he conveniently didn't "remember" any of those communications, then pivoted again, stating, "I was aware of it, but I don't think I was the main person involved, or even very involved." Ok, sure, Mr. Literally The Executive Vice-President Of The Whole F*cking Company. Not involved one bit!

US House passes $14.3 billion aid package for Israel with IRS cuts despite Democratic opposition
The first major bill passed by Mike Johnson's House is dead on arrival in the Senate, because Mr. Math Whiz insisted on "offsetting" the military aid expenditure by cutting the IRS budget, which would make it more difficult for the US government to chase down wealthy tax cheats, thereby *increasing* the federal deficit. Democrats were also furious at the refusal to bundle aid for Ukraine and Israel together. After nearly three weeks of an embarrassing speakership fight in which they got nothing done, the GOP Congress is right back to the way things were before — getting nothing done.

Uh-oh! Poor Ivanka! Having to testify during a school week about the outrageous amount of fraud committed by The Trump Organization for decades would apparently create "undue hardship" for her family. Seriously. Not a joke. Somehow the school week wasn't a problem when she was spending all her time working incredibly hard in the White House on...something super important, we're sure. Mayor Adams abruptly bailed on a White House meeting after news broke that the FBI had raided several locations around New York, including the home of Adams' chief fundraiser. The federal government is conducting a wide public corruption probe into Adams' 2021 campaign and allegations of suspected foreign influence peddling — more specifically, illegal campaign donations from the Turkish government and possible kickbacks to Turkish officials. Considering the staggering accusations of corruption swirling around various members of Adams' inner circle, and the mayor's own history of incredibly shady dealings, we're willing to bet there's some fire amidst all this smoke.

Sam Bankman-Fried found guilty in FTX crypto fraud case
Someone's gonna have to change his name to "Sam Bankman-Jailed," because the notorious crypto bro and amphetamine enthusiast has been found guilty on all seven counts of fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering...each of which carry a potential 20-year sentence. The man whose hubris helped build and topple his crypto empire also toppled his own chances of staying out of prison; during his personal testimony, Bankman-Fried said more than 140 times that he couldn't remember a document, conversation, or other key details, which the government successfully argued was because he was lying.

You will be shocked, SHOCKED to learn that the Bible-thumping, gay-hating Speaker of the House Mike Johnson also hates poor people and is a huge proponent of gutting SNAP, the popular and hugely successful food stamps program, which he called “our nation’s most broken and bloated welfare program" in 2018. But any move against SNAP funding puts the passage of the federal farm bill in danger, which a great many Republicans will need to pass to appease their constituents and hold on to their seats. Johnson truly is a remarkable Christian; after all, who could forget that famous Bible verse where Jesus said, "Thou must not give the bread to the hungry, for they will become lazy; instead thou must make their children work for it, for this will bless the profit margins."

Texts reveal fellow Army reservist feared Maine gunman would "snap and do a mass shooting"
As is far, far, far too often the case, the proper authorities had prior warning about a future mass shooter and somehow failed to take action. A staff sergeant who would only identify himself as "Hodgson" texted a friend who was a police corporal and raised concerns about Lewiston shooter Robert Card's bizarre behavior and open threats of mass violence prior to last week's massacre. "And yes he still has all of his weapons...I believe he's going to snap and do a mass shooting," texted Hodgson in mid-September. Can't get much more explicit than that! Whether the culprit is general police incompetence or lack of legal recourse, serious action needs to be taken to make sure this never happens again.
