What Kind Of Candidate Does The Forward Party Support?

At Forward, we aim to reduce partisan polarization and implement electoral reforms. With Forwardists on the ballot across five states on Tuesday, you may be wondering what are the qualities and values that the party looks for in its potential nominees?

Our mission is straightforward: to break through political gridlock and drive transformative change by elevating practical, solutions-oriented candidates and incumbents who reflect the will of the voters, not the partisans. To keep it simple, we look for leaders who can turn our mission into action. They fall under three categories.

- Bipartisan Problem-Solver: Forwardists with a proven track record of breaking through the gridlock that paralyzes our political system. These candidates have demonstrable experience in prioritizing practical solutions over partisan loyalty and have successfully collaborated across the aisle to address pressing challenges. They have also supported innovative solutions to some of our biggest problems, backed by experts and data.

- Anti-Extremist Challenger: Forwardists who are standing up to extremist candidates and their divisive ideologies. Unlike general opposition to extremism, these individuals are or have challenged radical candidates, advocating for unity and inclusion through their actions and policies.

- Democracy Defender: Forwardists with a demonstrated impact in defending our democratic systems and values. These candidates have concrete accomplishments in ensuring electoral fairness and making sure that the outcomes of our elections reflect the true will of the voting public.

Our candidates sign a pledge to govern with integrity, and we take this pledge very seriously at Forward. We believe that having leaders with strong character can fix a lot of problems in our country.
