Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the official program starting at 10 a.m.

Join for an interview-style discussion with Bill Strusinski, a remarkable individual whose life story weaves together the threads of courage, camaraderie, advocacy and public service. This special event, hosted by the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, offers a rare opportunity to gain insight into the life of a Vietnam War veteran and combat medic turned accomplished government official and lobbyist.
Moderated by Randal Dietrich, Executive Director for the Minnesota Military Museum. Bill?s book ?Care Under Fire? will be available for purchase and signing following the event.

The Minneapolis Veterans Home and the Minneapolis VA are honoring those who have served by co-hosting a decorated vehicle parade on Veterans Day, Saturday, Nov. 11. Cars will make two trips around the Home?s campus for our Residents and their families to enjoy. The parade is set to arrive at 11:15 a.m.

The Scott County Historical Society (SCHS) is honored to host special guest speaker, Dr. Ha Tuong on Nov. 14, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. for the SCHS Nights at the Museum program.
Dr. Tuong, a war researcher and author, has a unique view about the Vietnam War, as reflected in his two books, Two Minnows, and his newest The War. Dr. Tuong will speak about the reason he wrote the books: to make the voices of Vietnam Veterans and the South Vietnamese heard.

The PACT Act is a new law that expands VA health care and benefits for Veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances.
The PACT Act adds to the list of health conditions the VA presumes are caused by exposure to these substances. This law helps provide generations of Veterans?and their survivors?with the care and benefits they?ve earned and deserve.

Minnesota Veterans who served sometime between September 11, 2001, and August 30, 2021 may be eligible for a Post-9/11 Service Bonus. More than 20,000 Minnesota Veterans who served in the Global War on Terrorism have already received bonuses totaling $21.4 million in recognition of their service.
The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is distributing nearly $39.8 million in bonuses. Eligible Veterans are paid on a first-come, first-served basis, so Veterans should apply today before the funds are gone.
