That’s why today, we’re kicking off a month-long global mobilization to demand a 100% renewable energy system and an urgent end to the era of coal, oil, and gas — an industry rooted in injustice and exploitation.
President Biden and other world leaders will gather in Dubai for COP28 in just a few weeks to discuss how to combat the climate crisis. And there’s a real chance they will commit to an ambitious renewable energy target.
Only if we make our demands loud enough.
Here’s the situation: In the lead-up to COP28, fossil fuel lobbyists will be whispering in the ears of world leaders to stop a transition to renewable energy. We can counter them with a huge show of people power — and that’s why we’re hosting Global Power Up from now until December.
Together, we can create the pressure we need to get President Biden and other world leaders to commit. We hosted our first event in New Orleans yesterday, and we’re hosting many more across the country over the next several weeks!
