John, we’re training and placing our Election Protection volunteers for this year’s elections until the last minute – but we need your help to pull this off in the next few days.
I’m truly inspired by how many people recognized the importance of this election and have answered the call to become an Election Protection volunteer OR sponsor one.
But we’re running out of time to place every one of the thousands of dedicated volunteers – including many Common Cause members like you – who signed up this year to help voters navigate confusion and intimidation at the polls and safely cast their ballot.
That’s why I’m writing to you today to ask if you’ll make a measurable impact on voters this election. In just a single shift, our Election Protection volunteers will help dozens of voters.
Our volunteers are trained in their states’ unique voting rules. And they’re ready to help EVERY voter ensure their vote is counted – even in the face of blatant voter suppression, like Virginia removing thousands of qualified voters from the rolls just this year.
John, state and local elections are critical to our democracy. The results of this year’s elections will decide if people can access abortion and other reproductive care in states like Virginia and Ohio.
Our volunteers are crucial in stopping attacks on our right to vote and attempts to rig the results. But training and placing these volunteers is resource intensive – and we urgently need to place every volunteer that signed up before Election Day on Tuesday.
It costs $50 to train and place a single volunteer, who then is able to help dozens of voters. I know how important this work is, but we need your help to fund it.
This is your last chance to sponsor an Election Protection volunteer for Tuesday’s elections. Can I count on you to rush a gift of $50 – or whatever you can today – and sponsor a volunteer?
Thank you for securing free and fair elections,
Sylvia Albert, Director of Voting and Elections
and the team at Common Cause
