We’ve got some news straight out of Victoria that we think you’ll want to hear about.

Our own Rikkie-Lee Tyrrell MLC has just submitted her first private member’s bill. She’s got her sights set on protecting our high-quality farming land from solar farm sprawl.

Rikkie-Lee and her family are farmers through and through, so she knows a thing or two about high-quality agricultural land. The bill she’s put forward is all about improving the Victorian planning rules to make sure our prime farmland isn’t being taken over by solar monstrosities.

Of course, you’ve got the usual suspects on the left kicking up a stink, saying it’s all doom and gloom with One Nation proposing the amendment.

All water off a duck’s back. Rikkie-Lee says she’s confident that the bill’s got public support and isn’t fazed by the extremists and their claims that the farmers are happy with the status quo.
