Jack, I know you don't want to hear it, but the presidential election is just over a year away—November 5, 2024.
You know what's at stake. Trump is running away with the Republican primary, polls show him in a dead heat with President Biden in the general election, and it doesn't matter if or even how many times he's convicted in his various trials between now and then—if his name is on the ballot, the MAGA nutjobs will vote for him. And all that's to say nothing of our razor thin Senate majority and the possibility to retake the House. (Dems have just 51 seats in the Senate and are just five seats from taking the House majority while there are 18 Republicans representing districts Biden won in 2020.)
Look, I don't want to have to go through another election with Trump on the ballot any more than you do, but that's the way things are going right now, so there's no point in denying it. The only thing we can do is roll up our sleeves and get to work because we cannot let that cheap spray-tanned wannabe Putin back in the White House.
Daily Kos is the country's largest progressive, independent news outlet and activism hub. We have a deep reach into the Democratic Party's most active voters, and we can use that to recruit volunteers and plug them into crucial campaigns to help Dems win up and down the ballot in all 50 states. We've gotten very good at this sort of thing, but it's neither cheap nor easy. It takes a lot of work. That's why I'm asking you to start a $5 monthly recurring donation to Daily Kos through the 2024 election. It's the most powerful thing you can do to support our work to Get Out The Vote in 2024.
Can't donate monthly? Click here to donate $20.24 one time and let's win this thing.
Thank you,
Michael Langenmayr, Daily Kos
