Dear A.,
Tonight, the House passed a bill that fully funds $14.3 billion for Israel’s security. AIPAC appreciates this important vote, and we will work to build broad bipartisan support as the package moves through the legislative process to ensure prompt final approval.
The House also passed two key pieces of AIPAC-backed legislation last night – a bill sanctioning foreign supporters of Hamas, and a resolution putting the House on record that "all means necessary" should be used to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran.
IDF Spokesperson Daniel Hagari announced today that "Our troops have completely encircled Gaza City, the center of Hamas activity." Intense fighting continued throughout the day, and the IDF said 130 Hamas terrorists were killed in fire fights. IDF soldiers are continuously encountering landmines, booby traps, and ambushes from Hamas in this complex urban area.
The coming days will see even more difficult fighting, as the IDF operates in the densest part of the Gaza Strip. America must give Israel the time, resources, and diplomatic support it needs to win this war.
WATCH AND SHARE:In an interview with an MSNBC reporter, a senior Hamas leader was pressed on his repeated threats to carry out more massacres against Israelis. He rejected any notion of a ceasefire, saying, "We will never stop the fight."
According to U.S. officials, Hamas is hoarding 200,000 gallons of fuel that could be powering hospitals in Gaza, and using it to launch rockets and operate its terror tunnels underground.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken told Congress that, "Hamas has its own supply stockpile of fuel. If it cared a whit about the people of Gaza, it would make sure itself that it used that fuel to have the hospitals be able to operate the incubators, stay turned on, etc. But, of course, it doesn’t."
The IDF released footage today showing an F-35 fighter jet intercepting one of the cruise missiles launched by Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen on Tuesday. The F-35 is a byproduct of a strong a U.S.-Israel relationship and the security funding we lobby for together.
UNITED IN THE FIGHT: The photo below encapsulates the unity of the Israeli people in their fight against Hamas. On the left is an activist with 'Brothers in Arms,' who advocated against the judicial reform legislation. On the right is a senior member of the Kohelet Policy Forum who supported the proposed reforms. Now they stand together in the shared fight for their country.
