Working Families Party

A last-minute flood of billionaire money has just hit the Philadelphia City Council race, John.

Jeffrey Yass, a GOP megadonor and Pennsylvania’s richest man, has just rushed a whopping $300,000 into a super PAC to sink WFP’s Kendra Brooks and Nicolas O’Rourke1 — our two progressive candidates running to take both minority party seats from Philadelphia’s GOP.

That’s a ton of money to spend this late in the race John, and it’s enough to buy both seats for Republicans if we don’t fight back the best way we know how.

Organizers and volunteers are already on the ground in Philadelphia getting out the vote via canvassing, texting, calls, and more. Can we count on you to help us reach even more voters in Philadelphia before Election Day on Tuesday? Split a contribution of $10 or any amount between Kendra Brooks and Nicolas O’Rourke’s campaigns now.

Swamping progressive battlefronts with hundreds of thousands, and sometimes even millions of dollars, isn’t new for Jeffrey Yass.

In fact, he’s made it his personal mission.

Just last spring, when progressives were hoping to rack up another big-city win in Philadelphia’s mayoral primary after scoring a major upset in Chicago, Yass spent over $1 million on ads smearing public school champion Helen Gym, who ended up finishing third.2

And in the past month, he’s poured millions into groups funding anti-abortion candidates across the country — including over $2 million to GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin, who aims for Virginia to be the blueprint for how to pass abortion bans in states around the country.3

Now, he’s trying to sway the Philadelphia City Council race because he’s afraid. He’s afraid of us and what we can win together with a Republican-free council in one of the largest cities in the country.

Kendra and Nic’s vision for a city with fully-funded public schools, safe neighborhoods, affordable housing, and real opportunity for all is our dream — but Yass’, and other rich magnates’ nightmare. And they’re going to do everything they can to kill our momentum.

But we know we have the people on our side. And with your support we can launch a massive voter outreach campaign to counteract these attacks and win on Tuesday.

Will you chip in $10 now to help us fight back against Republican attacks against Kendra and Nicolas and the billionaires bankrolling them?

Thank you for your support in these crucial final days,

Working Families Party
