A new report by the Climate Investigations Center found that the American Gas Association is directly copying tactics from Big Tobacco’s playbook to bully, manipulate, and discredit science to get their way. They’re funding studies to try and diminish the health risks involved with gas appliances in the home.
These industry-backed studies are designed to create uncertainties in health research to try and leave the impression that the science is not clear, even as evidence of the link between gas appliances in homes and respiratory illnesses accumulates.
Their “research” is putting people’s health at risk all to avoid gas regulations.
Big Gas can pay for thousands of studies, but no amount of money can make them true. We know that gas appliances are bad for the climate and bad for our health. The truth is irrefutable.
