Hi!
Piper Perabo here!
I just wanted to make sure you saw Christine’s message from earlier this week about tonight’s Get Out The Vote Rally for Christine Clarke’s campaign for New Jersey State Senate.
New Jersey is near & dear to my heart, and I think it’s long past due that we elect candidates like Christine to the State Senate.
People use the term “Climate Champion” a lot these days, but when it comes to Christine, I can’t think of a better way to describe her. Climate progress isn’t just another blurb on her campaign website, it’s at the core of her campaign and the reason she decided to run for office in the first place.
I hope you can join me, Christine and Jane Fonda tonight at 7pm to learn more about her campaign and how you can help make sure we elect someone who will make climate progress a top priority when she’s elected on November 7.

Hello friends in activism!
As someone who declared a run for state office because of climate change, I can’t tell you how overjoyed I am that Jane Fonda not only created the Jane Fonda Climate PAC to elect climate activists to government seats, but chose my campaign to support! In a hurry? Click here to sign up for our virtual rally on Thursday at 7pm ET or make a contribution. ([link removed])
When I ran for office for the first time in a district that pundits had written off as having ‘no chance’ at a fair outcome, I knew my platform at that time was a point of advocacy. For years, I had been a volunteer who marched, spoke out, testified, and later organized, coordinated and led free public forums about climate change. I knew if I ran for office, I could make the local press pay attention to the myriad impacts of climate change on our daily lives. We discussed everything from more intense storms, to longer warmer seasons creating harmful algal blooms in reservoirs, to food prices and nutritional impacts, to flooding and the prospect of uninsurable properties, and more. We helped normalize climate talk in campaigns out here.
Fast forward to now: we have a new competitive district and my opponent, the newly named Senate GOP leader, has an odious record on climate work. He votes no on everything ‘climate,’ and has a very well-deserved “F” from Climate Cabinet. We are currently winning in early voting and need to keep the momentum going!
Let’s talk about it: Join Jane Fonda, Piper Perabo and me this Thursday, November 2 at 7 p.m. ET during our Virtual Rally. We’ll discuss why this election is so pivotal to meeting our long-term goals. Join us! (And by the way, I literally squealed when I found out about this. Fangirling hard.)

Jane Fonda is a hero to climate activists like me. Her work raising awareness and action around the country is heartening and gives so many of us the hope that we are heard, we are working together and our ambitions are being met with action everywhere, not just in our localities. We climate candidates NEED the kind of support the Jane Fonda Climate PAC brings to our races, and we are so grateful for you being part of the journey for a better future for our families. Let’s win together!

I hope to see you there!
In solidarity and gratitude,
Christine Clarke
