Since the Israel-Gaza Crisis began, more than 1.4 million people –  about half of the population of Gaza – have been displaced. Shelters in Gaza are currently at over three times their capacity.



The health care system in Gaza is on the brink of collapse due to shortages of electricity, medicine, equipment and specialized personnel. Over one-third of hospitals and nearly two-thirds of primary health care clinics have shut down due to damage or lack of fuel. Thousands of pregnant women are at risk of going without treatment.

More than 1 million people in Gaza are in need of humanitarian assistance. Americares has provided emergency funding for antibiotics, IV fluids and other critical medicines. But more aid is desperately needed.



Americares is currently preparing a shipment of essential medical supplies that can treat 100,000 people for three months, including surgical supplies, asthma medication and urgently needed resources for labor and delivery. 



Our logistics experts in Egypt are coordinating with local authorities to facilitate shipments across the Rafah border to Gaza.
