If we can raise $13,500 in the next few days, we can fully fund all these actions. ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

I'm reaching out to you today to see if I can count on your support, John. Here's why I need your help:

Power Up, our global days of action for climate justice and community-owned renewable energy, starts in just a few days, but we're facing a tough situation.

We've seen a huge influx of interest in our Power Up climate actions. So much so that a few of the 350 teams around the world have reached out to me with a request for additional funding to support their climate actions, and if we can't raise the money that's missing in the next few days, we will have to scale back some actions.

We can't let that happen, John. Power Up is our chance to show the world that a better and safer future is possible. The more climate actions we are able to organize around the world — and the bigger we can go — the more powerful our message to world leaders and the fossil fuel industry will be.

I've put together a list of the actions that are at risk, and how much we need to raise to fully fund each one. Are you able to sponsor these actions today?

Item Description Funds missing
Buses for the Pacific Team's Traditional Dance action The Pacific team needs additional funds to rent buses that will take Pacific Island and First Nations climate defenders from Sydney to the coal mining and gas lands where they will host a traditional ceremony. The focus of this action is to unite indigenous climate defenders and create inspiration — to ignite a spark for the climate movement that lives on long after Power Up ends. $2,300 — chip in today
Participation stipends and logistical cost for the Asia team's Parachute Banner action The Asia team, through the newly trained Asia Solidarity Lab (ASL) Fellows, needs additional funds for logistical costs, transportation, accommodation, meals and refreshments, to ensure that the fellows and their community leaders from across the region can participate and support numerous distributed actions. The goal of their action is to create and unfurl a massive parachute banner with the message "Asia's Future Will Be Powered by the Sun, the Wind, and the People" to symbolize the region's solidarity and commitment to sustainable energy solutions. $5,000 — chip in today
Boats for the Latin America team's Amazonas action The Latin America team needs additional funds to rent boats that will bring riverine communities and indigenous people to their event in Silves, Amazonas, Brazil. Climate activists will speak about the need to protect their territories from ongoing fossil fuel exploitation in the area as well as how important it is for the transition to renewable energy to be implemented with a focus on justice. The two-day event will have an art contest, music, debates, and a vigil with a diversity of religions. $6,200 — chip in today
Total $13,500

So here's where that leaves us:

If we can raise $2,300 in the next few days, we can fully fund the buses for the Pacific team's traditional dance action.

CHIP IN $10 FOR BUSES

If we can raise an additional $5,000 — so $7,300 in total — we will also be able to fund the participation stipends requested by the Asia team.

CHIP IN $35 FOR BUSES AND STIPENDS

And if we're able to raise the full $13,500 in the next few days, we'll be able to fund all the activities listed above, including the boats needed for the Amazon action!

CHIP IN $100 FOR BUSES, STIPENDS AND BOATS

You can also chip in any other amount that works for you.

The Power Up actions we're organizing all over the world will range in size from a dozen people standing up in their communities, to more than 1,000 attendees. But regardless of size, they are an equally important part of the whole, and will help make Power Up a massive success.

That's why we want to be sure we're prepared to support every type of action in every corner of the country and around the world.

Thank you for your support today, John — it means a lot to all of us.

In solidarity,

May Boeve
