Clearly, Antofagasta, the Chilean mining giant behind the Twin Metals mine, wants to resurrect its toxic sulfide-ore copper mine in the watershed of the Boundary Waters.

The mining conglomerate got a foothold by prying open the door to drilling on vulnerable state and private lands next to the Boundary Waters, short-circuiting our ongoing state lawsuit (making this decision before next year's hearing), and undercutting the Biden administration’s 20-year protections for the federal lands in the watershed.
