As Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s top lobbyist, my opponent, Curtis Hertel, Jr. steered a $1.5 million State contract to a special interest group, then resigned his government position and was handed a $108,000 contract from that same organization.

To make matters worse, the $1.5 million was awarded from the agency run by Hertel’s wife, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
And the organization’s CEO admitted to discussing the contract with Hertel while he was negotiating with the State for the $1.5 million grant.
