Dear team,
"The state of Idaho doesn't care about pregnant people."
This is what was clear to Jennifer Adkins, the lead plaintiff in the Center for Reproductive Rights' case, Adkins v. State of Idaho, and our team this week when the state asked the court to dismiss our case on behalf of seven plaintiffs including Jennifer, and three other courageous women who were denied abortions despite life-threatening pregnancy complications. They want to dismiss these women's stories, but you and I can't let them.

Just like Jennifer, plaintiffs in several other cases have shared their stories to save others from suffering the same fate. But earlier this week, the state of Idaho downplayed their harrowing experiences and denied the life-threatening circumstances people continue to face under the state's extreme abortion restrictions. This case is far from over, and together you and I can hold the state of Idaho accountable. [[link removed]]

A few weeks ago, I shared how Idaho's draconian bans are driving OB-GYNs out of the state and creating maternal health care deserts that place people hours from critical services. Yesterday, the state doubled down on its disregard for pregnant Idahoans, refusing to address or even acknowledge the danger its laws are causing.
We will be fighting back against this attempt to dismiss our case. I know you won't stand for this, and together we'll continue to hold the state of Idaho—and every place denying people their reproductive freedom—accountable. [[link removed]]
Thank you for standing with us in this crucial moment.
Onward,
Gail Deady
Senior Staff Attorney
P.S. We are proudly representing seven brave plaintiffs in Idaho: Four women who were denied medically necessary abortion care in their home state; two Idaho physicians who provide obstetrical care; and a professional membership organization consisting of Idaho physicians, medical residents, and medical students. You can read their stories here. [[link removed]]
