Get Students Excited About STEM/STEAM!
Did you know there were about 11.7 million people ages 16 and up working in STEM occupations in 2021? November 8 is National Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math/Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math Day. This day helps encourage students to learn more about these subjects and pique their curiosity about the future innovations they could bring to the world.
Our 5-minute warm-up challenge, From College to Jobs: Pathways in STEM, gives students the opportunity to explore an interactive data visualization that illustrates the dynamic relationship between college majors and jobs and make comparisons based on the characteristics and educational attainment level of STEM-related and non-STEM workers.
|
After reviewing the warm-up activity together as a class, check out our Kahoot! game, Where to Next: Exploring STEM Careers. This fun challenge shares facts like number of people in the U.S. working in STEM jobs, the median earnings of people in select STEM professions, and more to get students inspired about their future after high school.
