I’m John Walsh, and today, I'm thrilled to share my decision to run for Denver District Attorney. Denver holds a special place in my heart, and over the years, I've witnessed its growth, challenges, and endless potential. With our city evolving, it's crucial that our justice system evolves, too. 

Our city is growing, and with it comes an increase in community safety issues: a rise in gun violence and violence in our schools, an epidemic of car thefts that disproportionately impact our working families, and far too many people facing addiction, mental health challenges, and homelessness. More than ever, we need a District Attorney committed to working energetically with city officials, law enforcement, and our community to address these issues head-on and put safety first - and who will work with the community to prevent crime by focusing on the causes of crime. 

From confronting powerful drug cartels and billion-dollar companies to tirelessly advocating for robust laws against gun crime, my journey has always been motivated by a desire for a smarter, more effective, and more equitable justice system.

I’m committed to addressing our public safety challenges by bringing innovative problem-solving that builds trust, addresses crime proactively, and protects the community. As Denver District Attorney, my mission will be to earn and sustain the trust of our community, ensuring Denver remains a vibrant, welcoming, and safe city for all of us.
