When I was 15, I testified in front of the city council because I was exhausted, scared, and mad after yet another shooting in my neighborhood.

In Pennsylvania, I just completed a statewide Safer Communities Tour where we focused on not just the short-term solutions like banning assault weapons and background checks, but the root causes of violence, like poverty and a lack of quality education and opportunity in our communities.

Now, I’m taking my advocacy nationwide as the chair of the DLGA’s Gun Violence Prevention Coalition.
