ACLU supporter – You spoke, and Governor Evers listened. Last week, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers vetoed a harmful package of crime bills that would have forced the construction of new state prisons and left thousands more Wisconsinites languishing behind bars. It was a big victory for our campaign against mass incarceration, and it wouldn't have happened without your support. More than 2,000 Wisconsinites sent messages to Governor Evers and signed petitions opposing the practice of crimeless revocation. This victory is proof positive that when we raise our voices and stand up to injustice, we can make a meaningful difference for families and communities across the state. And we're not done yet. Now we need to build on this momentum by stopping people from being thrown in prison for minor mistakes and ending Wisconsin's mass incarceration crisis once and for all. No one should live one missed appointment away from a prison sentence – and together we can make sure no one does. Sign the petition to end crimeless revocation in Wisconsin. Thanks for standing with us, ACLU of Wisconsin |
