Iran to Chair U.N. Human Rights Forum
Newsmax: An international protest campaign has erupted over Iran being selected to chair a UN human rights forum Thursday despite its history of oppression, torture, and executions. The forum comes at a time when Iran has shown support for Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, which conducted a sneak attack on Israel on Oct. 7. More than 1,400 Israelis have died since that day and more than 200 hostages were taken to Gaza. Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen in recent days have declared war on Israel ( Newsmax). Hillel Neuer: The Islamic Republic of Iran was today appointed Chair of the U.N. Human Rights Council Social Forum. This year’s theme is technology and promotion of human rights; Iran just hanged Yousef Mehrad and Sadrollah Fazeli Zare for using social media to criticize religion ( X).

VP Kamala Harris Announces Strategy Center to Counter Islamophobia
This is a joke right? Daily Wire: Vice President Kamala Harris went public on Wednesday with the Biden administration’s newest project — a National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia — in the wake of increasing and escalating anti-semitic threats and attacks in the United States and worldwide ( Daily Wire). Collin Rugg: As Jewish students are being targeted and attacked on college campuses across the nation by left-wing radicals, VP Kamala Harris has launched a strategy to counter Islamophobia. Remarkable. Kamala, who has done practically nothing for 2 years, says the White House is seeing an uptick in anti-Muslim attacks ( X).

IDF Shows Video of Hamas Commandeering Fuel from Hospitals
I24News: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have released an intercepted call that sheds light on how Hamas is stealing fuel from hospitals in Gaza, a revelation that underscores the group’s exploitation of humanitarian resources in the region. This conversation, involving a commander from Hamas’s Western Jabaliya Battalion, a Gazan resident, and the director of the Indonesian Hospital, was intercepted by Israeli Military Intelligence. Despite the sensitivity of the information, it has been declassified to reveal Hamas’s prioritization of its own terrorist needs over those of the civilian population in Gaza. In the intercepted phone call, the Hamas commander repeatedly hints at the group taking fuel from the hospital’s stocks, justifying it by stating they are “working as a government for the sake of the country” ( I24News). I24News English: IDF exposes a conversation between a commander of Hamas’s Western Jabaliya Battalion and a Gazan resident, with the participation of the director of the Indonesian Hospital about how Hamas steals fuel from hospitals at the expense of Gazan civilians ( X).

Jewish Students Look to Sue Harvard, Cornell Over Antisemitism
Insider: Jewish college students in the United States are gearing up to sue elite universities like Cornell and Harvard over allegations that the schools have turned a blind eye in the face of rampant antisemitism on campuses, Insider has learned. The lead attorney handling the soon-to-be-filed lawsuits, Mark Ressler of the New York City-based firm Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP, said in an interview on Tuesday that antisemitism on college campuses has long been a problem, but that the deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attacks by Hamas on Israel “poured a lot of fuel on an already raging fire” ( Insider). Aviva Klompas: The pro-murder, pro-kidnapping mob is targeting and harassing Jewish students at Harvard ( X). HotAir: Cornell is also the place where a professor described the 10/7 attack by Hamas as “exhilarating.” That professor is now on leave for at least the rest of the semester. The situation at Harvard has also been intense. A bunch of groups signed onto a statement blaming Israelis for the murderous rampage by Hamas on Oct. 7 ( HotAir).

Cornell Student Charged with Threatening Jewish Students
ABC: A Cornell University student was charged with making threats against Jewish students on the campus, according to federal charges filed by the Justice Department on Tuesday. Patrick Dai, a junior at Cornell, was charged by the DOJ with making explicit threats against Jewish men, women and babies, which allegedly included threats of rape and murder. According to the DOJ, Dai allegedly threatened to “bring an assault rifle to campus and shoot” Jews. The charge filed against Dai carries a maximum term of five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and a term of supervised release of up to three years ( ABC). Fox News: Dai allegedly threatened to “shoot up 104 west,” a campus dining hall that serves kosher food. The cafeteria is next door to the Cornell Center for Jewish Living, which provides housing for Jewish students. In another post on Oct. 29, Dai threatened to “bring an assault rifle to campus and shoot all you pig Jews,” whom he described as “rats” that need to be eliminated. In that same post, Dai allegedly threatened to slit the throats of any Jewish males he sees on campus, to rape and throw off a cliff any Jewish females, and to behead any Jewish babies in front of their parents, court papers say ( Fox News).

Hamas Official Promises to Repeat Oct. 7 Attack Over and Over Again
Ed Morrissey: Palestinian apologists claim that their actions come in response to the supposed “open-air prison” conditions in Gaza and settler encroachment in the West Bank. All of that is simply propaganda served up to Western media and moral idiots. When Hamas speaks to Arab audiences, they make their annihilationist goals crystal clear, none of which have to do with Gaza or the West Bank but with Israel entirely ( HotAir). Salem News Channel: Hamas Official Ghazi Hamad: We Will Repeat the October 7 Attack Time and Again Until Israel Is Annihilated ( X).

Homeschooling Rates Rise as Faith in Public Education Erodes
Washington Post: Home schooling has become — by a wide margin — America’s fastest-growing form of education, as families from Upper Manhattan to Eastern Kentucky embrace a largely unregulated practice once confined to the ideological fringe. The growth demonstrates home schooling’s arrival as a mainstay of the American educational system, with its impact — on society, on public schools and, above all, on hundreds of thousands of children now learning outside a conventional academic setting — only beginning to be felt ( Washington Post). HotAir: Public schools have declined in enrollment by 4% in recent years, and private schools have seen their enrollment increase by 7%. Nothing shocking there, as parents got fed up with public schools. But homeschooling increases–don’t forget, the absolute numbers are still pretty low compared to traditional schools–total more than 50% ( HotAir). Illinois Policy: Teachers unions: Why is everyone suddenly so skeptical of us? Also teachers unions ( X).

China Removes Israel from Online Maps
Wall Street Journal: Internet users in China are expressing bewilderment that the name Israel doesn’t appear on leading online digital maps from Baidu and Alibaba, an ambiguity that matches Beijing’s vague diplomacy in the region and contrasts with its attentiveness to maps generally. Baidu’s Chinese language online maps demarcate the internationally recognized borders of Israel, as well as the Palestinian territories, plus key cities, but don’t clearly identify the country by name. The same is true with online maps produced by Alibaba’s Amap, where even small nations like Luxembourg are clearly marked ( Wall Street Journal). Fox News: China’s strong relationship with Iran may be a reason for Israel’s absence from the map. China remains Iran’s largest trading partner, and Iran is the prime source of funding for both Hamas and Hezbollah, terror groups devoted to the destruction of Israel ( Fox News).

Fed Decides to Keep Interest Rate at 5.5 Percent
Spencer Brown: The Federal Reserve’s Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) met this week and announced its latest decision regarding interest rates on Wednesday afternoon: rates will remain unchanged at their current 22-year high of 5.5 percent. The continuation of the pause in rate hikes announced at the last Fed meeting comes as the FOMC reiterates that inflation “remains elevated,” well above the target rate of just two percent ( Townhall). CNBC: There also are worries over Treasury issuance as the government looks to finance its massive debt load. The department this week said it will be auctioning off $776 billion of debt in the fourth quarter, starting with $112 billion across three auctions next week ( CNBC).

Nancy Pelosi Subpoenaed in Criminal Court in California
Daily Wire: Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been subpoenaed in a criminal case out of California, a U.S. House officer announced on Wednesday. In the House chamber, Reading Clerk Tylease Alli read a message to the speaker from Pelosi in compliance with the House rules, which dictate how members should deal with judicial subpoenas and orders that are “properly” served. A specific case linked to the subpoenas was not given. The announcement comes as the federal case against David DePape, the man charged in the San Francisco home invasion attack on Pelosi’s husband Paul roughly one year ago, is set to go to trial this month ( Daily Wire). Greg Price: The U.S. House Clerk just said that Nancy Pelosi was served a subpoena to produce documents in third-party criminal case in California ( X).
