Native American Heritage Month, Veterans Day, Election Week, and Thanksgiving Weekend November at the Museum Explore Indigenous History In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the National Constitution Center is hosting a series of programs and activities highlighting the history of Indigenous people and their relationship to the Constitution. Explore Indigenous peoples’ influence on the Constitution, learn about native languages, and the Wampanoag people, and the history of Thanksgiving. LEARN MORE Election Week Monday, November 6 — Sunday, November 12 This election week, the National Constitution Center celebrates voting rights with a series of programs designed for every learner. We’ll take a look at voting rights in early America, how these rights changed over time, and discover the inspiring stories of historic figures who insisted on equality at the ballot box for all. Join a voter technology workshop to learn about the history of casting ballots, design a campaign poster, and vote for your favorite president in our voting booth simulation. LEARN MORE Veterans Day Friday, November 10 (Observed) – Saturday, November 11 In honor of Veterans Day, the National Constitution Center recognizes the dedication and sacrifices of the brave people who have answered the Constitution’s call to “provide for the common defense.” Join us for wreath laying ceremonies, veteran chats, and exhibit talks about veterans throughout history. In the spirit of service, the National Constitution Center is partnering with the Veterans Multi-Service Center to organize a food donation drive for veterans in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. Donations can be dropped off at the Center on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11. Visitors who donate food will receive discounted museum admission. Museum admission is free for military veterans on Friday, November 10 and Saturday, November 11. LEARN MORE Thanksgiving Weekend Friday, November 24 – Sunday, November 26 Over Thanksgiving weekend, the National Constitution Center invites visitors to celebrate with a variety of special programs and activities. Visitors can explore the history of this national holiday as they learn about the Wampanoag people who lived in what is now New England, as well as the historic meal they shared with European settlers in 1621 and the events leading up to the harvest feast that year. LEARN MORE Book Your Group Field Trips and Group Visits Your group is sure to be inspired, informed, and engaged by their visit to the National Constitution Center. The museum experience includes six signature attractions. The First Amendment: In our newest exhibit, discover how the First Amendment protects our most cherished freedoms—religious liberty, free speech, a free press, the freedom of assembly, and the right to petition—and how it impacts us today. Freedom Rising: This multimedia theater-in-the-round performance connects visitors—in an inspiring, unforgettable way—with the story of the U.S. Constitution and its ongoing role in our lives. The Story of We the People: This hands-on exhibit illuminates America’s constitutional history through innovative exhibits, films, photographs, rare artifacts, and engaging activities led by our education staff. Signers’ Hall: Sign the Constitution alongside 42 life-size, bronze statues of the Founding Fathers. Civil War and Reconstruction: Learn how constitutional clashes over slavery set the stage for the Civil War, and how the nation transformed the Constitution after the war during the Reconstruction period, taking a particularly close look at the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. The 19th Amendment: Explore the long fight for women’s suffrage and discover the stories of the many women who transformed constitutional history.
