John, Kevin McCarthy has nothing to lose.
Well, nothing else.
With a campaign account flush with over $10 MILLION in cash and nowhere to spend it, McCarthy might just try to make good on his promise that I can never become California’s U.S. Senator.
Look, I know that McCarthy’s word means less than nothing.
But freed from the responsibilities of supporting frontline House Republicans as Speaker, he’s a loose cannon open to being petty and vindictive, not to mention with money to burn in a desperate act of retribution against one of his biggest political enemies — yours truly.
ABC News reported that McCarthy helped raise nearly $650 million for his Congressional Leadership Fund super PAC, and with just a few months until our U.S. Senate primary election, he could try to get back into Trump’s good graces by submarining my candidacy.
We can’t let it happen.
