Team, I wanted to reach out personally to explain why your grassroots support for the NDRC has never been more important.

There are many reasons, but I’ll just give you three:

1. CNN recently reported that “high-stakes battles over new congressional lines . . . could influence which party controls the US House of Representatives after the 2024 election.”

Ultimately, more than a dozen district lines could shift before next November’s election. Considering that Republicans currently control the House by just 5 votes, that’s more than enough to swing the House majority.

2. The NDRC is the only nationwide, Democratic organization 100% committed to fighting for fair maps across the country.

Last decade, Republicans used gerrymandering and voter disenfranchisement to seize an unearned political advantage. To fight these antidemocratic tactics and hand power back to the people, A.G. Eric Holder, with support from leaders like President Barack Obama, established the NDRC in 2017 as the first-ever centralized hub to fight for fair maps.

3. The NDRC has a proven track record of winning fair maps victories across the country.

Ahead of the 2022 election, our proven grassroots strategy helped secure what the New York Times called “the fairest map of the last 40 years.” After Election Day, President Barack Obama said, “Our democracy is stronger because of what we have accomplished . . . But the movement doesn’t stop here.”
