I know the world seems uncertain and chaotic right now. Climate change, international conflict, gun violence, MAGA extremism, more
It’s enough to make anyone’s head spin and heart ache. I know I’ve felt that way in recent weeks and months.
But one thing continues to give me hope: people power.
There is a community of WisDem’s supporters in every state across the country, and you have stepped up consistently in my time as Chair.
You helped defeat Trump in 2020, and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
You helped re-elect Governor Evers last year, ensuring that extreme Republicans would not be able to gain trifecta control over our critical swing state.
You helped elect Justice Janet Protasiewicz this past spring, and flipped the Wisconsin Supreme Court.
And over the past two months, you Defended Justice. You mobilized to help us stop extreme Republicans from unconstitutionally impeaching Justice Protasiewicz before she had even heard a case.
Because you spoke up and mobilized, we halted them in their tracks.
That’s why we’re hosting a unique event this Friday. It’s called “Justice Defended LIVE.” During this event, we’ll celebrate our wins, share key learnings, and—most importantly—lay out a vision for the path forward.
If we want to keep our democracy, we have to keep on showing up. We have to keep on talking to one another, and we have to keep building relationships and community. It’s the only way through the fog of chaos and uncertainty.
