I can hardly believe it, y’all.

This is the month of the election. As of today, we are less than three weeks away from Election Day and just days away from early voting.

When I officially threw my hat in the ring, I felt excitement, nervousness, anticipation — you name it! But most importantly, I felt ready.

I was ready to take on the career politicians and ready to represent women, workers, and families on a state-wide scale. I joined this race because this fight is personal to me. Despite having the odds stacked against me, and despite being a working woman in a man’s world, I have succeeded. I am the embodiment of the American Dream.

While we secured our spot in the upcoming runoff election, the GOP took the Governor’s Office and our majorities in the state House and Senate. On the campaign trail, I’ve heard from voters and elected officials alike that they’re worried about Louisiana’s future under far-right leadership, But here's what I tell them:

It’s up to us to hold that power in check by securing a victory on November 18.
