Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their right and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless. Isaiah 10:1-2

Dear Movement Family,

We are gathering on June 20, 2020 because there are 140 million poor and low wealth people in this nation; 38 million are children. The nation must see their faces, hear their stories and find the moral courage to address the interlocking injustices that make this a reality: systemic racism, poverty, militarism and the war economy, ecological devastation and a distorted moral narrative of religious nationalism.

We know that scarcity of resources is not the issue; it’s scarcity of will. As people of faith our calling has always been to challenge the scarcity of will, to strengthen the heart and moral vision of our people to face the evils and injustices of our time.

On June 20, 2020 we will take another step in this movement to come together by the thousands for a generationally transformative Mass Poor People’s Assembly and Moral March on Washington. This is bigger than any political campaign or candidate.

We are writing to ask you to join us in realizing a national call for 1000 faith leaders and faith communities to each raise $1000 and bring at least 100 people to DC on June 20, 2020.

Please click here to pledge and donate.

With the funds we raise from the 1000:1000:100 Campaign we will support state leaders with travel scholarships, contribute to the cost of housing and lodging people in DC, and help build a massive stage for the poor and dispossessed of this country to come and share our stories - our plight, our fight, and our insight.

Somebody is hurting our people and it’s gone on far too long. We won’t…We can’t…We refuse to be silent anymore.

Above is a short video where we lay out the 1000:1000:100 Campaign call and below is a link to the form where you can pledge to join us and make a contribution. We need faith leaders and members of congregations alike to take this call to your communities and share it with your networks. Feel free to use this opportunity to partner with a few local faith communities to make this pledge together. Please email our team at [email protected] with any questions.
