We extend our deepest gratitude...

Friend,

On behalf of all SPLC staff, we extend our deepest gratitude. All of
our work is powered by the generosity of people like you -
people who share our vision for a just, equitable world.

In response to rising hate crime numbers, we made the decision to
designate October as Hate Crimes Awareness Month. Due to incomplete
reporting, the numbers only show a small fraction of hate-fueled
crimes. Still, they reveal an alarming trend. The FBI's 2022
hate crimes report documented 11,643 hate crimes last year, the
highest number the FBI has ever recorded and a 7% increase from the
previous year's record-breaking total.

Thanks to your support, we were able to raise crucial awareness and
resources for hate crime victims and their communities. Thank you for
helping to stop the cycle of hate that too often ends with dire
consequences for the Black community and other communities of color,
Jewish people and the LGBTQ+ community.

Your support does more than just power our work. It lets us know that
your faith in the march for justice is as strong as ours.

In solidarity,

Your friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center
