John,

In case you needed some good news: we’ve got some GOOD news!

In Lubbock, Texas, our partner Lubbock Compact did something amazing: in 60 days they collected more than 10,500 signatures in support of marijuana reform. With an all-volunteer crew!

If you know anything about Lubbock, you’ll understand how impressive this is. This is a city better known for right-wing, anti-abortion activism than progressive organizing. But Lubbock Compact, with the support of Ground Game Texas, is showing a different side of this West Texas community.

Ground Game Texas knows we need to organize in EVERY part of Texas to build a movement for statewide change. Please donate $25 or more today so we can keep supporting grassroots organizations like Lubbock Compact. [[link removed]]

To support Lubbock Compact, Ground Game provided our tools and personnel, including coaching from our campaigns manager, digital tools to assist with signature verification, public education materials to raise awareness of their campaign, and more. We even sent our top campaign organizer, Lorena Ramirez — a veteran of Ground Game campaigns in El Paso and the Rio Grande Valley — to support the final two weeks of signature collection.

We are absolutely inspired by the courage and determination of our friends in Lubbock Compact. And we remained convinced that local grassroots groups — with support from people like you and me — are essential to building the progressive future we need.

Please support our capacity-building programs today. Your contribution will help spur grassroots change across Texas. [[link removed]]

With hope for a better future,
