New family homes completed, with a special nod to 100 years of council housing

Thirteen new council houses have been completed, as Bulwell families move into their new homes. Nottingham City Homes (NCH) and contractor Robert Woodhead Ltd developed the homes off of Aldgate Close in Bulwell, on behalf of Nottingham City Council.

The new homes, which were built on the derelict site of a former care home, have now transformed the area and the road has been renamed in honour of 100 years of council housing.

Early finish for roadworks

Gas works that have been taking place on Sherwood Rise are set to be complete nine weeks early, with the road re-opening to traffic on Monday 16thMarch.

Cadent have been carrying out maintenance and upgrades to their services in the area and the council coordinated three other utility companies taking the opportunity to carry out their own works at the same time, so that no further road closures or traffic restrictions should be needed along this stretch of road in the immediate future.

Plaque unveiled to celebrate Nottingham Women!

A new plaque has been officially unveiled today ahead of International Womens Day this Sunday 8thMarch. Positioned on the Council House exterior on South Parade, the plaque honours the women who were first to hold important political leadership roles in the city.

Work starts on new family homes in Nottingham

Construction has started on 17 new council houses which will provide new homes for local people in Basford.

Nottingham City Homes (NCH) who act as the City Councils development agent for new build Council housing, will build the homes using their own in-house team of local tradespeople, on waste ground off Tunstall Drive, on the Heathfield estate.

Jobs boost as Nottingham forecast to have one of the UKs fastest growing economies

Nottingham

Nottingham is expected to have one of the fastest growing city economies in the UK over the next three years, according to a major new report.

The Regional Economic Forecast published by financial services company EY predicts that Nottinghams economy will expand by 2.1 per cent per year between 2020 and 2023.

Conman builder given suspended prison sentence for fraud

A criminal builder who conned a Bilborough resident out of nearly 6,000 has been handed a suspended prison sentence.

Jason Clarke, pictured, plead guilty to fraud when he appeared at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday and was also ordered to repay the outstanding amount owed to the victim of 4,796.55.
