Dear Friend,

I want to share with you AAI’s recent poll, released yesterday, measuring Arab American attitudes during the latest breakout of violence in Palestine and Israel. I’m sharing key findings below, you can view the full findings in the report here [[link removed]] .

The poll shows that Arab Americans, not unlike the majority of Americans, support a ceasefire. We've seen this sentiment play out in polls across political affiliations, gender, race, and ethnicity.

A MAJORITY OF AMERICANS WANT A CEASE-FIRE. I'll SAY IT AGAIN. AMERICANS WANT A CEASE-FIRE .

The AAI poll got extensive coverage and I am including some links below in the hopes that they are useful to you in your advocacy. Discussion of our Arab American poll also caused "Arab Americans" to trend on Twitter/X - which we know got the attention of those whom we wanted to hear our voices. You can make your call for a cease-fire heard by clicking here [[link removed]] .

KEY FINDINGS

Arab American reactions to the U.S. response to Gaza:
* A strong majority (68%) of Arab Americans believe the U.S. should call for a ceasefire in Gaza.
* 68% oppose the United States sending weapons and military supplies to Israel.
* 67% of Arab Americans have a negative view of President Biden’s response to the current violence in Palestine and Israel.
Biden’s response to the violence has had a major effect on Arab American voters.
* Support among Arab Americans for Biden’s 2024 bid dropped to 17%, a massive drop from 59% in 2020.
* Arab Americans now have a negative view of President Biden with 66% viewing him negatively.
* This poll marks the first time in our 26 years of polling Arab American voters in which a majority did not claim to prefer the Democratic Party – only 23% identified as Democrats.
The poll also focused on how the backlash at home in the form of increased hate, chilled speech, and discrimination, has affected Arab Americans.  There are high levels of concern with publicly expressing views in support of Palestinian rights and fear for personal safety or acts of discrimination. Below are highlights:
* Eight in ten Arab Americans are concerned that the current violence may provoke anti-Arab bigotry and two-thirds are concerned it may provoke antisemitism.
* 59% of Arab Americans report experiencing discrimination, an increase of 6% since April of this year.
* 70% percent of Arab American Muslims and 74% of Arab Americans ages 18-34 report facing discrimination.
* 50% of all Arab Americans felt concerned about facing discrimination at school, work, and in their local community, and 45% expressed concern about their personal safety due to the recent violence in Palestine and Israel.
* Two-thirds of Arab Americans expressed concern about showing support for Palestinians.
