The Supreme Court should be the gold standard of judicial ethics, but some justices today, particularly Justice Clarence Thomas, are falling far short of that standard. To begin restoring the Court’s legitimacy AFJ organized a letter signed by 66 other organizations calling for Justice Thomas’s immediate resignation. For decades Justice Thomas has engaged in corrupt and unethical behavior, devastating the credibility of the Supreme Court. He has not only accepted lavish gifts and luxury vacations worth millions without disclosing them, but he has also failed to recuse himself from many cases where he had clear conflicts of interest. Our justice system can only be fair and just when it is held accountable, and Justice Thomas has undermined the very foundation of our judiciary.
