Friends, I want to thank you for the incredible support you showed my re-election campaign during the month of October.
We asked a lot of you, and thousands of you stepped up to help out. In fact, with 6,989 online donations, you broke our campaign record for the number of individual contributions in one month! That’s a huge deal, and it’s so important to me because it shows that we’re building unprecedented levels of grassroots enthusiasm for keeping Virginia blue.
The bad news is that despite this record-breaking enthusiasm, we didn’t quite reach our overall October fundraising goal. Now, I want to be clear -- my team set an ambitious goal, and what we did accomplish is still pretty impressive. But we fell short of our total benchmark by about $23,000, and those are funds we’ll have to make up in this month’s push.
The reason we set these goals each month is that if we tried to just sit down and raise all the money we need to run -- and win -- a massive statewide race, we simply couldn’t do it. We’ve got to break it down into smaller pieces if we’re going to get there -- and we’ve got to stay on track, especially as we get closer to the end of the year and 2024.
So today, I have to ask: If you didn’t get a chance to chip in during October, or if you’re able to dig deep and give again, would you consider making a donation right now to help raise that missing $23,000 and get us back on track?
