When we returned to our partner school sites after the pandemic, things were not yet ready to “go back to normal.” We encountered many new challenges that limited our presence on campus due to safety protocols and educational priorities meant to address the devastating effects of the pandemic. Almost four years after the initial pandemic lockdown, we have finally begun to feel the momentum of engagement with students that can only flourish when we are in person.

High school students had the chance to meet in person with college representatives from Occidental, Davidson, and Wellesley College this past month, and we are providing ongoing support to seniors through our college application workshops. We also increased our presence on college campuses with a dedicated advisor at LA City College with regular office hours on campus. Our efforts to increase student engagement in both our College Access and College Success programs would not be possible without the support and generosity of individuals like you.

College Kickstart Coming Soon

On December 2nd, we are hosting an all-day event featuring workshops for high school juniors and their parents to help launch their postsecondary journey. Our College Counselors will guide participants on the four California systems, financial aid, how to pick the right college and more. We will also be offering parent workshops in both Spanish and English. Contact us for sponsorship opportunities or more information.

Career Expo is Almost Here

The annual Career Expo is just a few days away. On November 7th, the College Success team will host skill-building workshops and panels discussing career paths. This virtual event gives students access to insider knowledge from professionals, helping our students bridge the gap between graduation and obtaining a job.
