Hi John,

Two days before Donald Trump announced his 2021 budget, he said: "We will not be touching your Social Security or Medicare in Fiscal Year 2021 Budget.”

He was lying. Trump’s budget proposes a total of $800 billion in cuts to the popular programs Social Security, Medicare, AND Medicaid. These significant cuts will severely impact the programs that so many of my constituents -- especially our seniors -- in southeast Pennsylvania rely on.

Trump’s budget for the next year clearly lays out his values. He’s willing to turn his back on the most vulnerable people in our communities and defund critical social safety net programs all to cover the costs of his wall at the southern border.

One of the reasons I decided to run for Congress was because I believe that healthcare is a human right. Our families should not be forced to choose between their necessary prescriptions or medical treatments and keeping food on the table.

Programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid make it possible for people across the district to avoid financial hardship -- and that’s why I’ll fight in Congress to stop Trump’s budget from becoming a harsh reality for you and others in our district.

But I can’t stand up to Trump and his GOP attack dogs without your help. My far-right opponent has already begun to suggest that I’m a “socialist” -- and he’s attacked my character.

You and I both know who I am and that I’m in Congress to protect our shared American values from right-wing attacks.
