Hi We The Action Volunteer,

A week ago today, we hosted our inaugural We The Action Summit — a convening of volunteer lawyers, thought leaders, and nonprofit partners.

Nearly 100 of our most dedicated We The Action volunteers came together in Washington, D.C. for an inspirational day of service and action. Our volunteers participated in engaging panels, lent their services for pro bono clinics, and learned from a fireside chat with 82nd Attorney General Eric Holder and Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta, moderated by our We The Action Advisory Council Chair, Dana Remus.

Together, we reviewed 184 individual cases with the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition, completed voter suppression research in 47 states alongside The Leadership Conference, and reviewed case law from the 5th, 7th, and 9th circuit courts with VECINA. It was a forceful and inspirational reminder of the power that we have as members of We The Action.

Throughout the day, I had the tremendous privilege of celebrating our network of attorneys, including our Volunteer of the Year Debbie Cooper. I encourage you to join us in honoring her tenacity, brilliance, and her commitment to pro bono immigration law. ([link removed])

As I reflect on the impact of our Summit, I find myself coming back to Attorney General Eric Holder’s reminder of the unique role attorneys can play in bending the arc of the moral universe towards justice. With your ongoing support, I can confidently say that we are bending the moral arc of the universe towards justice for future generations to come.
