Healthcare access experiences and needs among LBQ women, trans, and nonbinary people in Canada: A research report

Have you ever wondered what the healthcare priorities are for lesbian, bi+, and queer (LBQ) women and nonbinary people? What actions can be taken across sectors to address these priorities?

Our latest research report, Healthcare access experiences and needs among LBQ women, trans, and nonbinary people in Canada: A research report explores these questions, provides recommendations aimed at particular groups (e.g., educators, healthcare practitioners, policymakers), and issues a call-to-action for sectors to work together to improve healthcare access for LBQ women, trans, and nonbinary people in Canada.

Egale Canada's researchers worked alongside social artist Melanie Schambach to create three research visuals, inspired by participants’ perspectives and experiences of healthcare in Canada. The posters encapsulate project findings and recommendations. These posters can be used freely and displayed in community-based centers, healthcare settings, etc.

Aging and Living Well Among LGBTQI Older Adults in Canada

Egale's research report, Aging and Living Well Among LGBTQI Older Adults in Canada, explores what does “aging and living well” look like? And what social changes are needed to better enable LGBTQI older adults to live and age well, on their terms? The findings from this project provide us with a deeper understanding of the key issues facing LGBTQI older adults in Canada, spark connections and conversations about what aging can be, and provide recommendations to address inequities.
