Supreme Court Update <[link removed]>

ACLU Supporter --

This morning -- on behalf of transgender youth, their families, and their medical providers -- the ACLU and our co-counsel asked the Supreme Court to hear our case and block a Tennessee law banning gender-affirming medical care for trans people under 18.

Over the past few months, this law has already had a disastrous impact in homes and communities across Tennessee. Despite gender-affirming medical care for transgender adolescents being evidence-based and safe -- lawmakers have intruded into the lives and decisions of families like our clients to take away this lifeline for the young people who need it.

And that is why we are asking the justices today to take this case and block this dangerous law. Get the full rundown on our case to SCOTUS now: <[link removed]>

"I'm fighting this law because I know how important this care is for tens of thousands of transgender youth like me." -- 15-year-old L.W. (ACLU client)

ACLU Supporter, right now, tens of thousands of transgender youth like L.W. are at risk of losing the medical care that allows them to survive and thrive because of brand new laws that target them and only them.

These laws not only destabilize the lives of transgender youth but also disrupt their families and communities -- and the decisions upholding them threaten established legal protections with far-reaching implications.

So make no mistake: We are not only defending Tennessee trans youth, their families, and medical providers at the Supreme Court -- but also continuing to fight for the rights and lives of trans people nationwide.

Read on to learn more about this case and the fight for trans justice -- and thank you for being a part of this crucial work. <[link removed]>
