Parenting a Teenage Boy can be Daunting, But We can do Better
|
|
Remember when your boys climbed jungle gyms and went up and down slides? That’s where they cultivated friendships and learned to navigate their world.
Now they’re teenagers, and the playground is social media. That’s where they connect, form relationships, and shape their identity, much of it around how well they feel they measure up – or not – with “influencers.”
For these reasons, parenting a teenage boy can be daunting. The good news is, we can do better in equipping our teenagers for their journey. The key is to find ways to get into your son’s world and engage him. |

Romance: Beyond Valentine’s
Many married people don’t have the “spiritual gift” of romance. I remember a young wife telling her sports-crazed husband during a counseling session, “You can remember to turn on the TV every day, but you can’t remember to turn on me.”
Ouch!
Passion and intimacy in a relationship are like oxygen and water to the body. If the body doesn’t get the right amount of oxygen, it shows signs of stress: deep breathing, nausea, headaches and such. If it doesn’t get enough water, it dehydrates and slowly dies. |
