Novotny

*November 1, 2023*

Dear Neighbors,

I wanted to extend an initiation to an event that I am co-hosting with the I-94 West Chamber of Commerce about the state?s new Earned Sick and Safe Time law. Employers and the public are invited to attend the event to learn more about the ways this new law will impact businesses in the area. It will take place on November 8th, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Wyndham Garden's newly remodeled meeting room (2nd floor), 9200 Quaday Avenue NE in Otsego.

It is critically important to understand the details of this law and how it is going to impact both employers and employees. This informative session with local leaders, employers, and officials from the Department of Labor & Industry will provide detailed guidelines and resources to help folks effectively implement this new law.

The Elk River Chamber and I hosted a similar event this morning and 75 employers attended to learn more about this new law and how it will impact them. Thank you, Metalcraft, for hosting!

Novotny

Thank you for those that attended this morning's meeting!

Dave Skovholt, a Labor Standards expert at the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, will also be in attendance at next Wednesday?s event to help further explain the new law that goes into effect on January 1, 2024.

The event is free and I hope to see you there!
