This morning at 10 am ET, I’m taking the stage for a moderated debate with Republican presidential nominee Vivek Ramaswamy, hosted by the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College.

Vivek and I disagree on a lot. Priorities for federal funding. America’s role in the global community. Addressing versus adapting to climate change. The right to vote.

In order to win in 2024, it’s critical that we show voters that there is a bright line between Democrats' vision for America as the world's first multi-ethnic democracy and a 21st-century manufacturing superpower and Republicans' failed isolationism and trickle-down economics.

That’s the reason why I agreed to debate Vivek about America’s future.

My vision of economic patriotism is simple: massive public investment in industry can transform America into a 21st-century manufacturing superpower. That means bringing unionized, well-paying manufacturing jobs back to the United States, to communities ravaged by globalization. It means addressing inflation and the ongoing supply chain crisis by making things here at home. It means incentivizing factory construction, investing in training opportunities and manufacturing process innovations, and pushing the federal government to use tax revenues to purchase items made in America, not China or elsewhere.
