For decades, unlicensed gun sellers have sold guns online and at gun shows without running background checks on their customers.

But the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has finally proposed a regulation to close these loopholes that allow people to buy guns with no background checks.

ATF's proposed regulation will help expand background checks to more gun sales and save lives.

This has been years in the making, and we need to make sure the gun lobby can't and won't take away this hard-earned progress.

We need to make sure ATF finishes the job.
