Palestine Liberation Working Group
|
Today we are holding a press conference at Rep. Lizzie Fletcher's office to demand she supports the Ceasefire Now Resolution introduced by Rep. Cori Bush, which calls for an immediate ceasefire and de-escalation in Occupied Palestine, and humanitarian and assistance for Gaza.
We’ll be joined by Rice SJP and community members who support the demands, and who will speak to the necessity of our representatives standing against the ongoing genocide of Palestinians by the state of Israel, or being held responsible for their complicity!

Last week we met at Bohemeo's and discussed a satirical essay, the letter writing event, and the Jalen Randle campaign. Notes of the meeting are recorded in the agenda.
Additionally, we have uploaded a video to the chapter's YouTube channel. Folks edited footage and made an inspiring video of the banner drop. Go give a like and subscribe! Link to video
Moreover, the reading for the next meeting helps put into perspective what is at stake for the left and the response by the state to the Summer of 2020. While there are few on the left who applaud the use of RICO charges against Donald Trump, the fact remains that this tool of the state has been and will be used against the left again and again. The system works as intended against the left. Link to reading

The Night School is open to the public and if you would like to be part of it, reach out to [email protected]. The in-person and virtual sessions will be posted on the Houston DSA Calendar. Don't forget to RSVP! Make sure you invite a friend who might be socialism-curious!
