Dear Friend,

Last month, the House voted to move the Equal Rights Amendment one step closer to being enshrined in our Constitution — helping us achieve true equality in this country!

Without the ERA in the Constitution, the statutes and case law that have produced major advances in women’s rights since the middle of the last century are vulnerable to being ignored, weakened, or even reversed.

Please, friend, add your name to Mad's to demand that GOP leaders take the steps necessary to ensure equal protection for women under the Constitution. [link removed]

To quote the motto of Susan B. Anthony’s newspaper, the Revolution: “Men their rights and nothing more; women their rights and nothing less. This is the basic right that Madeleine is fighting for in Congress.

Add your name if you agree that it's overdue to correct course and take action to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. [link removed]

Dear Friend,

To everyone that chipped in before my last fundraising deadline, I want to extend my gratitude. As always, your generosity and support are what help keep me focused on pushing forward legislative priorities and holding the Trump Administration accountable.

I also want to take a moment of your time to let you know that March is Women's History Month. This year we mark the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment — constitutionally guaranteeing a women’s right to vote.

And we've come a long way since then. Last year alone Pennsylvania went from no women in Congress to four, and we ushered in the most women in Congress in our nation’s history.

But there’s more to do.

Alice Paul, as she introduced the Equal Rights Amendment in Seneca Falls in 1923, made a statement that remains significant 97 years later:

“We shall not be safe until the principle of equal rights is written into the framework of our government."

Just last month we reached a major, historic achievement — 38 states have now ratified the Equal Rights Amendment. We are one step closer to the basic right that Alice Paul and so many other brave women fought for: to be held equal in the eyes of the Constitution.

Stand with me and add your name to mine to send a message to GOP leaders that they must take the necessary steps to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and constitutionally protect that which we know is true: all people deserve equal rights. [link removed]

For my granddaughters, Aubrey and Ella — and my grandson Sawyer, too — I'm heartened to say we are one step closer to a more perfect union.

Mad Dean
