OK, here’s why. One of our big goals is to make sure that progressives are talking about the courts this year, because all of our priorities are toast if we don’t also have a plan for reclaiming the courts. Netroots Nation is a huge opportunity to influence that conversation. You may have heard of Netroots — it’s an annual conference for progressive activists and a huge opportunity to influence the broader progressive movement’s goals. In fact, our training will be co-hosted by leaders from the Center for Popular Democracy — one of the groups championing racial and economic justice agendas in America.

We can be sure that Netroots 2020 will have sessions on protecting and expanding health care coverage, on the right to choose, and on stopping climate change, but it’s on us to make sure that these activists are also talking about the courts. Anyone can vote for sessions to be included in the 2020 conference schedule, so please take a minute to vote for Demand Justice’s session on the courts before voting closes on Monday night.

We can’t miss this opportunity to put the courts on the progressive agenda. Voting takes less than five minutes, so please, before voting comes to a close on Monday night, put the progressive courts movement front and center today.
