The chaos in the House over the past few weeks is profoundly embarrassing and unacceptable.

You would think Republicans know better, but clearly, they don’t. The GOP has candidates openly suggesting that, if elected, they’ll use the same tactics in the Senate.

That’s wrong — and it cuts across everything our democratic institutions represent.

Putting aside the work of governing to spend days scoring political points and rubbishing colleagues is unacceptable in the House and the Senate.
