Born in Iraq, Dalia first came to the United States on a tourist visit after the first Gulf War in 1991 to visit family, and she quickly fell in love with America, its cultures, and its freedoms. In 1993, Dalia and her family legally immigrated to the United States. In the United States, it didn't take long for Dalia to surpass the dreams she had as a child.

Grateful for the opportunities this country has provided Dalia, she was confused by the anti-American rhetoric being spewed by Ilhan Omar. At the time, in 2018, Rep. Omar was newly elected to Congress to represent Minnesota's 5th Congressional District.

It is due to the life that Dalia has been given by our great country, that she has stepped up to run against Ilhan Omar to represent the citizens of Minnesota's 5th Congressional District. Dalia will work every day to represent American values as the next representative from Minnesota.
