March 6th: Childhood Obesity Day Today's focus during Obesity Care Week (OCW) is on childhood obesity, which places kids at risk for diseases that were once only seen in adults (such as type 2 diabetes). If left untreated, these health issues worsen with age. Still, childhood obesity rates are climbing. The Issue: Talking about and addressing weight with children can be hard. That's why families need resources and trained healthcare providers to help. Children with obesity also need comprehensive healthcare for families to navigate their health journeys, together.
What You Can Do: The OAC supports Obesity Care Week in believing that children with obesity deserve the same access to healthcare as adults. Do you? IF YES, Take Action and help us raise awareness about this issue by signing the OCW2020 Childhood Obesity Petition!
