John, we asked Wiley if we could reach out because my race for reelection is a total tossup. Here’s what that means, and why I need your help:

• Right now, there is a 50/50 chance that I will win my reelection campaign.
• Since this seat is so competitive, special interests are already spending money to defeat me and replace me with an out of touch extremist.
• If we want to keep fighting for Alaska in Congress, we can’t afford to miss any fundraising goals… especially today’s $10,000 goal.

But folks, I just checked my ActBlue and we’re still $1,028 short of our October fundraising goal. Missing this goal and any goal after could cost us this seat. Wiley said we could reach out because you know how high the stakes are, so please, help us defeat whatever extremist opponent I’m up against next November, and split a $10 donation between my campaign and Wiley's before midnight:

As I write this email, out-of-state special interests and mega donors are planning my defeat. 

They want to replace me with an extremist who doesn’t have Alaska’s best interests in mind. These special interest groups think they can just buy my seat instead of working for it.

But John, I’m used to being underestimated. I was counted out by pundits from the Lower 48 last year, and we shocked the nation with our victory. And with your help, I’ll do it again.
